Common questions
Is it legally binding?
Electronic signatures are legally valid in the US under the ESIGN Act and UETA. Every signature is recorded with the time, the signer's verified email, and their consent to sign electronically. That said, we are not a law firm, and a house rules agreement is not a lease.
What does it cost?
Writing and signing are free. When you want the sealed PDF with the full signature record, it is a one-time $7.99 for the whole household, or $2.99 for just your own copy. No subscriptions.
Do my roommates need an account?
No. They open their private link, verify their email with a short code, and sign. Only the person who creates the agreement signs in.
What if something changes later?
A signed agreement is sealed and never edited. If the household agrees on a change, you create a new version from the old one and everyone signs again. A new version costs $4.99.
Can a landlord use this for a room rental?
Yes. There is a room rental version with extra terms for landlords. Publishing a room rental agreement costs a one-time $19 fee; roommate agreements are free to publish.
